SNK Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company that was originally founded in 1978 as 'Shin Nihon Kikaku' and changed its name to SNK Playmore in 2001, before reverting back to SNK Co., Ltd. in 2016. The company is headquartered in Osaka and operates subsidiaries worldwide, including in the USA and China.
SNK is active as both a publisher and developer, and has also established itself in the areas of licensing and eSports. In 2022, the MiSK Foundation from Saudi Arabia, through its subsidiary Electronic Gaming Development Company, took a majority stake in SNK, acquiring 96.18% of the company.
