Google Compute Engine (short GCE) stands for the global infrastructure of the Google Cloud Platform on which e.g. the Google search engine, Youtube or also GMail are located.
End customers have the opportunity to operate virtual machines (VMs) and use numerous services of the technology giant. The business model is based on so-called "pay-as-you-go pricing".
The end points of the GCE can be found at second glance in numerous games. For example, Unity Technologies uses the service for their in-house unity analytics and the game Apex Legends by Electronic Arts, Inc. uses the Google platform for their multiplayer structures in their product.
