What data is collected?
I wrote an article a long time ago called
[In-depth]Block Spyware from Epic Games, Inc. in which I point out that telemetry and online functions in games with the games with the Unreal Engine are now so interlocked that blocking without waiver is blocking without abandonment is virtually impossible.
More information can be found on company profile of
Epic Games, Inc. or various data samples and images on these pages.
The scheme at Epic has always been the same. That's why i won't make a big fuss about it now.
EOS is again responsible for online,- and account binding, achievements, multiplayer lobbies, matchmaking, telemetry, player data, voice chat if necessary, as well as things like ownership, anti-cheat (e.g.
Easy-Anti Cheat), ingame bans, processing and uploading of crash reports, monitoring of soft,- and hardware data... and much more.

- 194 connections were established to the Epic Online Service.
- A total of 77 Ipv4 addresses were contacted
- The data stream was 596kb (which is a lot)
Connections counter

User agreement and opt-out/in
There is a user-agreement linked on the product page in Steam but it exists only in English is also difficult to read because "Wall of Text".
If you search for "data protection/privacy", you will be referred to the external "Social Media" page of Gearbox Publishing. At least there are multilanguage versions if necessary.
Can EOS be blocked?
Yes, all online functions can be blocked. Nevertheless, there are restrictions. As example, achievements are tied to EOS. Blocked EOS? No achievements in Steam.
If the Epic Online service is blocked, users are left with a half-functioning product, but can still play and have peace of mind in return, as well as a plus in data protection and privacy.
